DESCRIPTION:

  The Revolution is a control-line system designed to fly control-line model airplanes in the .25 to .45 engine size range. The unit is comprised of a control head assembly, bearing, control cable, control cable sub-assembly, control handle, center control post, spike end for insertion into ground, straps, and stakes. Control-lines are required to attach from the unit to the control-line model airplane.

  The unit will come fully assembled from the manufacturer and only the cable sub-assembly is required to be attached to the center control post to be ready for set up for operation in the field. The system will fly the model airplane without having to rotate (SPIN) in a circle with the model airplane. The control line system allows the individual controlling the airplane to stand or sit outside the flying circle in a safe location.  

  The pilot can position him or herself at any point around the flying circle which positions him or her with the sun at their back. The height of the unit (center of head assembly to ground) is the same as shoulder height of a 6’ tall man or woman (5ft), thus duplicating control-line requirement for basic maneuvers level flight. The system utilizes a standard control line handle and cable for controlling the model airplane outside the flying circle. In addition the system is capable of performing basic maneuvers as outlined in the control-line guidelines for basic maneuvers..

  The system is designed for mid size model airplanes, therefore 60’ control lines are recommended. The safe distance recommended for the pilot or individual controlling the model airplane using 60’ control-lines is 90’ from the center of the flight circle (this is the length provided by manufacturer). However, it is safe to be as close as 80’ on 60’ control-lines but is not recommended to be any closer than this for safe operation. The unit is designed to be used on hard to medium soft ground for safe operation; typically found in a park or most open fields where it is determined safe to fly by local officials.
